Wildflower Centre UK

This competition for the National Wild Flower Centre in Liverpool positioned new visitor and horticultural facilities into an existing walled garden in a parkland setting. The section of the building allowed a roofscape of raised beds and glasshouses at the same time as providing daylight and natural ventilation into the public spaces beneath. A central meditation space of clemp – clay, hemp and lime - is proposed and a canopy of photovoltaic tracking panels provides electricity for the Centre’s requirements.
